Layer 1 – From S&S Remodeling

Workmanship Coverage

The S&S Shield Protection System covers how the siding was installed — the fastening, flashing, capping, and finish work our crews performed. If our installation is the problem, we come back and fix it. That’s 25 years of coverage on labor most contractors warranty for one or two.

Layer 2 – From The Manufacturer

Product Coverage

The siding itself is covered by the manufacturer that made it. Alside, Mastic, and James Hardie each offer strong warranty programs on their product lines, covering things like fading, cracking, and material defects. The documents are linked below.

What does the S&S Shield Protection System cover?

It’s a 25-year workmanship guarantee covering our installation on all siding jobs we perform — the way the siding, capping, flashing, and trim were fitted and fastened. Product defects are handled separately under the manufacturer’s warranty.

Is the manufacturer warranty separate from yours?

Yes. Two different things cover two different problems. The manufacturer covers the siding material itself; S&S covers how it went on your house. You get both on every job.

Which manufacturer warranty applies to my home?

It depends on which product was installed — Alside, Mastic, or James Hardie. Check your paperwork, or call us and we’ll look up your job and tell you which document applies.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Call us at 610-876-0440. We’ll take a look, figure out whether it falls under our workmanship coverage or the manufacturer’s product coverage, and handle it from there.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell my house?

Transfer terms vary by manufacturer and are spelled out in each warranty document above. Give us a call before you list and we’ll tell you exactly where you stand.
